We operate a modern 7-chair dental clinic offering comprehensive low cost or no cost general dentistry to persons with concession cards and their dependants and primary aged children (see below for an explanation of fees) . BBCH Dental Team

Hours:  The Dental clinic is open from:

8:00 am to 4:00 pm Mon,Tues,Thurs, Fri

8.00 am to 6.30 pm Wednesday

8 am to 12.30 pm on Saturday

Who can use the service?

  • Any child under the age of 13 can come to Connect Health & Community

  • Youth 13 - 18 years MUST be eligible for the Medicare Child Dental benefits Schedule, or hold a current health care card, or hold a current pensioner concession card

  • Adults who hold a current health care card, or hold a current pensioner concession card

  • People up to 18 years of age who are a youth justice client in custodial care, or in out-of-home care provided by DHS

  • All refugees and asylum seekers living in Australia less than 5 years

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders


Priority Groups

 If you are one of the below groups tell the receptionist when you call to make an appointment as you may not need to go on to a waiting list:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders

  • Children and Youth

  • Pregnant Women

  • Homeless people and people at risk of homelessness

  • Refugees and asylum seekers

  • Registered clients of mental health and disability services, supported by a letter of recommendation from their case manager or staff of special development school


  What type of care is provided?


  • Dental Checkups and advice

  • Dental sealants to prevent tooth decay

  • Teeth cleaning

  • Fillings

  • Root canal treatment

  • Dentures

  • Referrals to specialist


Costs (Please note that Government policy may require us to collect fees from you)


General Treatment


Children (up to 12)



Free with Health Care Card, or Pension Card, or Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme

or $32.50 for a general course of care if not eligible for Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme and no Health Care or Pension Card

Youth (13 to 17)

Free with Health Care Card,or Pension Card, or Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme

Adults (18+) Between $27.50 and $110 with Health Care Card or Pension Card, depending on the number of visits


Emergency Dental treatment


This service is available by calling 9575 5366 from 8.30am Monday to Saturday. Early telephone calls or presentation at the dental clinic will ensure timely care.

You should call straight away if you have facial swelling or an accident involving your mouth or teeth.

For after hours emergency care, please call the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital on 1300 360 054 (country callers dial 1800 833 039).


All clients

Flat fee of $27.50 per course of care for Emergency Treatment



Dentures : $66.50 per denture (capped at $133) with Health Care or Pension card

Special Needs (Major mental health issues, homelessness, refugee, asylum seekers) : Free with Health Care Card,or Pension Card

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders : Free

Referral to Specialist Services – will incur a fee by the Specialist service
